Neuroplasticity, also know as Brain Plasticity, is the brains ability to adapt or change from experience, injury or disease. The brain does this by creating new neural pathways, changing existing ones or reorganizing to adapt or change. This varies by age so some changes are more predominant at certain ages but can happen at any time. Plasticity involves a variety of process and is not just involving neurons it also involves brain cells. The main two reasons for brain plasticity are learning, experience and memory, or as a result of brain damage. The environment plays an essential role but genetics are also involved.
